Cover Letters ~ Tips For Writing A Cover Letter

Many people spend hours writing their resumes and minutes writing the cover letters, which is a big mistake.

The cover letter sets the tone for everything that will follow, and without a strong cover letter, your resume may never be read.

It seems tempting to copy and paste – what a timesaver if you’re sending out 5, 10, or 50 resumes, but if you can’t take the time to customize your cover letter or don’t use cv editing services, you shouldn’t be sending your resume.

Employers cite “generic” cover letters as one of their top peeves. Just as you would like to believe that an employer is giving you a fair chance in a job interview and paying attention to your individual attributes, potential employers would like to think that you’re interested in their company and only their company. When employers receive generic cover letters and resumes, particularly from people who obviously haven’t read the job listing or job description, most automatically throw out those resumes.

It stands to reason, then, that if you want to get your resume read (which is the goal, after all), you need to seek help from professional resume writers or to spend at least 5-30 minutes writing a customized cover letter.

Here are some tips from cover letter editing service for writing an effective cover letter:

•keep it brief (no more than 300-500 words)
•get to the point immediately
•tie in what the employer is looking for with the education, experience, and job skills that you have
•explain why you would be well-suited for the job
•don’t restate everything that’s in your resume (think of the cover letter as the “blurb” or “teaser”)
•proofread for typos, misspellings, and grammatical errors.
